The Yayi continuity plan, branded ITESIWAJU, sets out nine development pillars as the APC candidate asks Ogun voters to judge 2027 on issues
Senator Solomon Adeola, the Ogun State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress and senator representing Ogun West, on Monday, 21 September 2026, presented a Yayi continuity plan to members of the Inter Party Advisory Council in Abeokuta, while Comrade Abayomi Sanyaolu, the Ogun State IPAC chairman, urged all aspirants to keep the contest civil.

Senator Solomon Adeola, also known as Yayi and chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, described the document as a nine pillar agenda tagged ITESIWAJU for Ogun State.
The meeting was held in the state capital and framed as an appeal for policy continuity rather than a clean break with the present administration.
Senator Solomon Adeola cited Lagos State as a working example of how successive governments since 1999 had built on earlier reforms in infrastructure, transport, revenue and urban development.
Ogun, he argued, could enjoy a similar multiplier effect if incoming leaders completed viable projects instead of abandoning them because another administration began the work.
Discontinuity, he said, can set a state back by several years. Projects should be judged by the benefit they bring to residents, not by the political brand attached to them.
If elected, Senator Solomon Adeola said his government would keep useful infrastructure schemes inherited from the current government.
He also called for an issue based campaign before the 2027 election, asking every governorship candidate to set out clear plans for youth development, women’s empowerment, industrialisation, agriculture, infrastructure, security, job creation and economic growth.
“If Lagos could achieve what it has achieved through seamless transition of government from one administration to another, we can begin to imagine the multiplier effects that continuity can bring to the economy and development of Ogun,” he said.
“People must be able to know what your plans are for the youth, the economy, women, industrialisation, infrastructure, contractors and agriculture. Where are you taking us to? People should judge us on those issues.”
The slogan Itesiwaju Ipinle Ogun, meaning the progress of Ogun State, is built around the acronym ITESIWAJU.
The nine headings cover infrastructure, tourism and culture, economic empowerment, security and welfare, inclusive growth and well being, women, youth and poverty eradication, agriculture and food security, job creation and industrialisation, and urbanisation and transparency.
Senator Solomon Adeola said the agenda was assembled after consultations with thousands of people across the state and after three years of work.
“This is not a document put together for the sake of putting a document together. It is not a document put together to grab power,” he said. “I put this document together with a sense of purpose. A document that took me three years to put together. It is a document meticulously crafted to attend to every need of everyone in this state.”
The ambitious claim sits inside a sharper political climate. Opponents have questioned Senator Solomon Adeola’s ancestral roots, and rival parties have also challenged aspects of his candidacy in court.
He dismissed the origin dispute as political manoeuvring and a sign of desperation for power.
“My ancestral challenge is mere politics and desperation for power. I have a vision and believe in the development of this state, so I refuse to be bothered. I refuse to be blackmailed. Under my government, you must be eminently qualified to earn a position,” he said.
Comrade Abayomi Sanyaolu praised the senator’s work across Ogun’s three senatorial districts and warned all governorship candidates against vulgar language and personal attacks.
The IPAC chairman said the electorate would be better served if every party published its manifesto and stuck to issues rather than insults.

Senator Solomon Adeola ended by asking rivals to do the same, so voters can compare programmes rather than personalities before they decide who should govern Ogun in 2027.
