APC forms 73-member committee for 2026 National Convention, chaired by Governor Hope Uzodimma, to ensure organised party congress nationwide
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has established a central coordination committee to oversee its 2026 National Convention, aiming to ensure an orderly and well-managed party congress.

The announcement, issued by APC National Secretary Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, confirmed Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as Chairman, with Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as Vice Chairman and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni as Secretary.
The 73-member committee comprises governors, senators, and senior party stakeholders from across Nigeria, including representatives from Kano, Kaduna, Borno, Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Plateau, Katsina, Sokoto, Gombe, Jigawa, Yobe, Benue, Cross River, Ebonyi, and Nasarawa states.
Key figures include Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin.
The APC stated that further details on the committee’s inauguration and preparatory activities for the 2026 National Convention would be released in due course.
