APC in Abia Pledges Full Support for Tinubu in 2027

APC in Abia State pledges full support for President Bola Tinubu, reporting strong membership and unity ahead of the 2027 presidential election

The All Progressives Congress in Abia State has declared it is fully prepared to deliver President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, adopting him as its sole candidate for the upcoming presidential poll.

The announcement was made on Sunday during the party’s Stakeholders Pre-Congress Meeting, convened by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, at his country home in Bende Local Government Area.

Addressing party stakeholders, Kalu urged commitment and focus, saying, “Be strong, be courageous. We have all it takes to deliver to Mr. President more than the 25% that they are dangling in front of him.”

He highlighted the party’s growing strength in the state, noting that over 160,000 members had been registered through APC’s e-registration exercise, although technical limitations, such as a shortage of National Identification Number machines, had restricted the process.

“If we had more NIN machines, our party would be more than 1 million people in this state,” Kalu said, promising that membership numbers would continue to grow ahead of the elections.

“Between now and one year when the election comes, we will shock Mr. President with the number of members of this great party of ours. It is a promise. We are not relenting. We are marching forward. We are not looking back. The train has taken off,” he added.

Kalu also revealed that his office had distributed over 400 tablets and other logistics to support the e-registration process, emphasizing participatory leadership.

“No one man owns the party. The party belongs to you. My kind of leadership places leadership in your hands, and we will come together to promote the party. All we aim to do is ensure that the structures at all levels are strong so that we deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.

The Deputy Speaker stressed party unity, warning against factionalism. “Anybody maintaining a faction is not a member of our party. We must work together if we are going to win massively in this state. The leadership says zero faction for APC,” he said.

Speaking on the same occasion, National Welfare Secretary Donatus Nwankpa urged members to promote peace and unity, adding that the party had a responsibility to reposition itself in Abia State.

“We have the responsibility of taking over the Government House. Tinubu is going to win,” he said.
