In a statement issued on Wednesday night, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Ambassador Steve Nnadi, said there is no valid court judgment or ex parte order affecting the party’s congresses or its national leadership.
The clarification follows reports alleging that Justice Hamza Mohammed of the Federal High Court had nullified congresses conducted by the national leadership of the party led by Barrister Uchenna Nnadi, a development said to have implications for state chapters including Imo.
The Imo State chapter, which recently held its congress in April 2026, had elected Hon. Ernest Njesi as state chairman alongside other executive officers.
Ambassador Nnadi described the reports as false and politically motivated, urging members of the party and the public to disregard what he termed misinformation.
He further insisted that no court had deregistered or invalidated the Action Peoples Party’s congresses nationwide, stressing that the Imo chapter remains fully functional and legitimate.
According to him, the Federal High Court in Zamfara lacks jurisdiction over the matter being referenced, adding that the alleged legal action was initiated by individuals not recognised by the party.
He also accused political opponents of spreading falsehoods aimed at destabilising the party, describing the claims as unfounded and misleading.

The party maintained that its internal structures remain solid and unaffected, reaffirming its commitment to party unity and continued political activities across all states.
