Benue Governor Hyacinth Alia calls for unity in the APC, urging reconciliation among members to strengthen party progress and governance
Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to embrace unity and reconciliation, calling on aggrieved stakeholders to put aside differences and work together for collective progress.

Speaking during an interview on Arise News, Governor Alia acknowledged the existence of internal divisions within the party but stressed that cohesion remains essential for effective governance and political stability.
The Benue APC Unity Call comes amid ongoing efforts to strengthen relationships among party stakeholders following tensions within the state chapter.
The governor emphasised that political leadership must remain accountable to the people, noting that citizens play a central role in bringing leaders into office and must remain at the centre of governance decisions.
He said elected officials must consistently listen to the people and ensure governance reflects their needs and expectations.
Governor Alia admitted that differences exist within the APC in Benue State but said structured reconciliation efforts have already been initiated to address them.
According to him, meetings involving key stakeholders have been held to reduce friction and promote understanding among party members.
He explained that both aggrieved and satisfied members were encouraged to prioritise unity in order to strengthen the party’s future direction.
The governor further noted that as party leader in the state, he personally facilitated reconciliation engagements aimed at bringing stakeholders together for dialogue.
He urged members who feel aggrieved to exercise restraint, while encouraging others to foster peace and cooperation within the party structure.
Governor Alia added that unity within the APC is crucial for strengthening governance delivery and improving the party’s chances in future elections.

Recall that Alia was recently declared winner of the APC governorship primary in Benue State following the conclusion of voting and collation of results across the state.
