The Katsina APC crash tragedy occurred when the vehicle conveying Machika was involved in a ghastly collision that claimed his life and left several others injured.

Among those affected was former Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Sirajo Damari, who sustained injuries and was receiving medical attention as of the time of reporting.

Governor Radda, who was represented at a condolence visit by Hon Shehu Dalhatu Tafoki, the member representing Faskari, Kankara and Sabuwa Federal Constituency, described Machika as a valuable asset to both the party and the state.

He noted that the deceased contributed significantly to the development of his community and played an active role in local political and social progress.

In a gesture of support, Hon Tafoki announced financial and material assistance on behalf of the governor, including a donation of five million naira to the bereaved family.

He also made a personal contribution of five hundred thousand naira, alongside provisions of food items such as ten bags of rice, ten cartons of vegetable oil and spaghetti to assist the family during the period of mourning.

The Katsina APC crash tragedy has cast a shadow over political activities in the region, particularly as party members had been preparing for the north west zonal congress.

Machika’s journey to Kaduna was in connection with the event, underscoring the sudden and unexpected nature of the incident.

Traditional and community leaders also expressed their condolences.

The Village Head of Machika, Alhaji Abubakar Kabir Muhammad, conveyed appreciation to Governor Radda for the support extended to the family and the community, describing the intervention as timely and compassionate during a difficult moment.

The accident adds to growing concerns about road safety along major highways in Nigeria, where recurring incidents continue to raise questions about vehicle conditions, driver awareness and enforcement of traffic regulations.

Authorities are yet to provide detailed findings on the cause of the crash.
