Mai Mala Buni appointed Secretary of APC 2026 National Convention Committee, bringing experience in party administration and conflict resolution
Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has been appointed Secretary of the 2026 National Convention Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), according to a statement by Mamman Mohammed, Director-General, Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, issued in Damaturu on 26 February 2026.

The 98-member committee, inaugurated by APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda in Abuja on Tuesday, is chaired by former Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari and tasked with organising the party’s 2026 national convention.
Prof. Yilwatda expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to deliver a free, fair, transparent, and widely accepted convention.
In his remarks, Aminu Masari described Governor Buni as an authority in party administration and conflict resolution.
“His experience and institutional knowledge will strengthen the committee’s assignment and ensure a seamless convention process,” Masari said.
