The Madumere defection APC to PDP move was formally communicated through a declaration letter presented to PDP officials in Imo State, marking a significant shift in his political career.

In his statement, Madumere explained that his decision was driven by a desire to work with like-minded individuals committed to restoring democratic rights and strengthening governance.

He emphasized his intention to contribute to youth empowerment, innovation, and transparent leadership.

He noted that his departure followed extensive consultations with family members, mentors, and supporters, describing the decision as a carefully considered one rather than a spontaneous move.

Madumere expressed gratitude to the APC for the opportunities it provided him, including his tenure as Deputy Governor of Imo State.

However, he stated that internal challenges within the party made it increasingly difficult for him to remain aligned with its direction.

He further explained that issues such as internal conflicts, perceived marginalization of loyal members, and a lack of ideological clarity influenced his decision to exit the party.

According to him, remaining in the APC would have limited his ability to effectively serve the people who entrusted him with political office, prompting his transition to a new platform where he believes he can make a greater impact.
