Oshiomhole Alleges Forgery in Natasha Suspension Report Claims

Oshiomhole alleges forgery in Natasha suspension report, claiming some senators’ names were included without their consent

Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North, has alleged that the names of at least three senators were included without consent in the report recommending the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

Oshiomhole made the claim during an interview on AIT, where he reacted to comments on the controversial suspension of the Kogi Central lawmaker.

He alleged that some lawmakers whose names appeared on the report denied signing or endorsing it, describing the situation as questionable and improper.

“People like Senator Ireti Kingibe. She told me, ‘But I didn’t sign that report. But my name was published,’” Oshiomhole said.

According to him, committee reports are expected to be signed by members as a form of endorsement, while dissenting members are free to abstain.

He suggested that attendance records may have been used in place of signatures, a practice he said was not appropriate for official legislative documentation.

“So, where many don’t accept the content, they could abstain from signing it because to sign is to endorse,” he said.

Oshiomhole added that some senators privately confirmed to him that their names appeared on the report without their approval, raising concerns over the authenticity of the document.

He maintained that if such claims were confirmed, they should be taken seriously by the Senate leadership.

The suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in March 2025 followed allegations of gross misconduct and disorderly behaviour during a heated political dispute in the Senate.
