The unveiling ceremony held on Monday at the PDP secretariat in Abeokuta attracted party leaders, stakeholders, youth groups, women organisations and supporters from across the state.

Kolapo, a former Senior Special Assistant on Communications and Strategy to former Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Olusegun Aganga, brings decades of media and communications experience to the PDP ticket.

She previously headed the Business Desk of The Punch and currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of The Point newspaper.

Speaking after her unveiling, Yemi Kolapo described her emergence as a call to greater service and an opportunity to contribute to Ogun State’s development.

She thanked the party leadership for the confidence placed in her and pledged commitment to supporting Adebutu’s vision for the state.

“Our mission is to restore hope to the people of Ogun State. We are committed to building a government that listens to the people, responds to their needs and ensures that no community is left behind,” she said.

Adebutu described Kolapo as a seasoned professional and accomplished leader whose experience would strengthen the party’s chances in the election.

He said her selection followed consultations with party stakeholders and reflected the PDP’s focus on competence, inclusion and effective governance.
