The reports emerged after a circulating video showed a physical count of supporters at the primary, where supporters of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa were reportedly far more numerous than those of Ned Nwoko, sparking widespread online discussion.

In what appeared to be a response to the claims, Ned Nwoko shared a video showing a large crowd of supporters, insisting that the level of backing he received across various wards and local government areas reflected strong grassroots support.

He described the turnout as a significant show of confidence, stating that supporters came out in large numbers and made their voices heard across the senatorial district.

Ned Nwoko responds to election results centred on his assertion that the strength of support on the ground remains “overwhelmingly positive,” adding that he is awaiting the official declaration from the party’s national committee.

According to him, the turnout demonstrated trust and shared belief in his political vision for the district, which he said reinforced his commitment to continued representation.

The senator maintained that he does not take the support for granted, stressing that it reflects a mandate he intends to honour if confirmed officially.
