Presiding Justice Toyin Adegoke restrained both the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and APC from conducting the congress scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

The injunction was issued following an application filed by Adedayo Adedeji on behalf of aggrieved APC members led by Lawrence Adebayo and 7,427 others.

In her ruling, Justice Adegoke ordered:

A restraint on INEC and APC from acknowledging or validating purported Ward and Local Government Congresses held on February 18 and 21, 2026, or the proposed State Congress.

Maintenance of the status quo before the conduct of the aforementioned congresses.

A halt to any act that may prejudice the upcoming hearing for the motion on notice for interlocutory injunction.

The court has scheduled the hearing of the substantive suit for March 26, 2026.
