Adeleke Re-election Survey Claims Spark Osun APC Row

A campaign group claims a survey projects Governor Ademola Adeleke’s victory in Osun 2026 poll, but APC dismisses the report as false

The Imole Campaign Council, which is coordinating the re-election bid of Governor Ademola Adeleke, has claimed that an alleged independent political survey reportedly commissioned by the All Progressives Congress (APC) projects a strong victory for the incumbent governor in the upcoming Osun governorship election.

The Osun Governorship Survey Adeleke APC claim was contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Osogbo by campaign spokesperson Pelumi Olajengbesi, who said the council obtained details of an internal political assessment allegedly conducted for the opposition party.

According to the council, the findings of the reported assessment suggest widespread support for Governor Adeleke across key voter groups, including civil servants, traders, artisans, youths, students and transport workers.

The statement further claimed that the survey projected that Governor Adeleke currently enjoys over 72 per cent public support ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election, with potential for further increase as the election approaches.

It also alleged that the report concluded the governor was on course for what it described as a decisive re-election victory, while advising caution within the opposition camp regarding campaign spending.

The campaign council further accused the APC of resorting to propaganda and intimidation, alleging that internal concerns within the opposition party were influencing political messaging ahead of the poll.

However, the All Progressives Congress has strongly denied the claims, dismissing the report as false and politically motivated.

Reacting, APC Media Co-Chairman Kola Olabisi said the party never commissioned any assessment projecting defeat for its candidate, describing the allegation as a fabrication.

He challenged the campaign council to produce the alleged document publicly, insisting that the APC remains confident of victory in the forthcoming election.

Olabisi also rejected accusations of violence or desperation, stating that the party is committed to a peaceful and issue-based campaign throughout the electoral process.
