Osun workers palliatives have been disbursed by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s government to support civil servants amid rising economic challenges
The Osun State Government has announced another round of Osun workers palliatives for civil servants across the state as Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration intensifies efforts to support public workers facing economic pressures.

The disbursement was announced in Osogbo on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, by Olawale Rasheed, spokesperson to Governor Ademola Adeleke.
According to a statement shared on the state government’s official X handle, the latest intervention is aimed at helping workers manage the rising cost of living while reinforcing the administration’s focus on public sector welfare.
“As part of our commitment to civil servants of Osun State, the backbone of our administration, we have once again disbursed palliatives to augment their salaries,” Rasheed said.
The government explained that the support programme was introduced before the implementation of the new minimum wage, describing the initiative as part of a wider strategy to provide relief for workers during a challenging economic period.
“Notably, we commenced periodic palliative payments even before implementing the new minimum wage increase, which positioned Osun as one of the first states in the federation to do so,” Rasheed added.
The latest payment forms part of the state government’s broader welfare approach, which officials said is designed to improve staff confidence, strengthen morale and encourage better service delivery across government institutions.
The administration also used the announcement to highlight its difference from the previous government, accusing the former leadership of failing to adequately address workers’ financial concerns.
“This stands in stark contrast to the previous administration, which weaponized poverty and systematically deprived civil servants of their earned salaries and entitlements,” the statement said.
The government maintained that treating public servants with dignity remains a key priority, adding that regular interventions would continue as part of efforts to improve the relationship between the state and its workforce.
The announcement comes amid wider economic concerns affecting households and workers across Nigeria, with several state governments introducing support measures to reduce the impact of inflation and increased living costs.
