PDP Ogun Youth Leader Oyejide Sunkanmi Resigns

Oyejide Sunkanmi resigns as PDP Ogun State Youth Leader after 12 years, thanking party leaders and hinting at a new political direction

Oyejide Sunkanmi, the Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State, has formally resigned his membership of the party, ending a 12-year political journey.

AThe announcement was made in a letter addressed to Ogun State PDP Chairman, Abayomi Tella, on Monday.

In the letter, Sunkanmi described his tenure as a “remarkable and fulfilling” period that offered him political exposure and personal growth.

He expressed gratitude to party leadership for opportunities extended to him throughout his service.

“I am sincerely grateful to the leadership of the party for the opportunity to serve in various capacities. The experience has shaped me politically and personally, and for that, I remain thankful,” he wrote.

Sunkanmi acknowledged several stakeholders who supported his political career, including PDP governorship candidate Oladipupo Adebutu, state chairman Abayomi Tella, and other influential party figures.

He noted that his decision may evoke mixed reactions but appealed for understanding, stressing that resigning was not taken lightly.

“Decisions such as this are never taken lightly. At this point, I believe it is time for me to move on to the next phase of my journey,” Sunkanmi stated, hinting at a new political direction.

The resignation marks the departure of a long-serving youth leader who played a key role in party activities in Ogun State and leaves speculation about his next political move.
