Peter Obi stated that his ambition is driven by a commitment to reposition Nigeria as a productive and prosperous nation, while addressing systemic challenges affecting governance, education and social development across the country.

In a detailed statement released via his official X handle, the former Anambra State governor said his 2027 presidential vision is anchored on unity, inclusion, social justice and equitable opportunities for all Nigerians, regardless of background or status.

The Peter Obi 2027 presidential vision Nigeria outlines a roadmap he said would be expanded in the coming weeks and months, focusing on reforms aimed at improving governance efficiency, reducing abuse of public office and raising living standards.

Obi said his proposed administration would prioritise education and healthcare as core pillars of national development, describing both sectors as critical to building strong human capital for long-term economic growth.

“Central to this proposed roadmap are significant reforms in education and healthcare, which are at the core of human capital development,” Obi stated.

He added that a key priority of his administration would be tackling the growing number of out-of-school children while strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to support industrial growth and job creation.

Obi also proposed a model that links government, private sector and social institutions to improve skills development, drawing comparisons with dual education systems used in countries such as Germany.

According to him, Nigeria must transition from a consumption-driven economy to a production-based system, stressing that unemployment and skills shortages must be addressed simultaneously to unlock national potential.

“The situation in which unemployment remains high while Nigerian entrepreneurs establish businesses elsewhere because skilled labour is scarce must be confronted decisively,” he said.

Obi further emphasised the importance of civic education and national values, stating that trust, discipline and shared identity are essential for sustainable governance and economic progress.
