The adjournment followed the inability of the party to present key documentary evidence required for the continuation of the case.
National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party, Professor Sodiq Abubakar, disclosed this in an interview after the court session on Wednesday.
He explained that the party was unable to obtain a crucial bank statement needed for the prosecution of the case.
According to him, the party had earlier applied to a commercial bank for the document but did not receive it in time.
He said the party was subsequently compelled to seek a court subpoena through the registry to compel the bank to produce the statement.
Professor Abubakar noted that the bank requested additional time, stating that the document was extensive and required approval from its headquarters before release.
He added that the court, after considering the explanation, granted an adjournment to allow the document to be made available.
The case, which involves allegations of financial misappropriation amounting to N35 million, was originally filed against Shehu Gabam over his tenure as national chairman.

The matter is expected to continue on July 20, 2026, when the court resumes hearing after the submission of the required documents.
