Abia Central Senator Austin Akobundu resigns from PDP, citing persistent party crises as his reason for departure
Senator Austin Akobundu has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing long-standing crises within the party as his reason.

In a formal letter submitted to the PDP Ward Chairman in Oloko, Akobundu stated that his resignation takes immediate effect.
He expressed gratitude for the opportunities afforded to him during his tenure in the party but described the persistent challenges as irreconcilable.
“After wide consultations with my associates and supporters, it has become pertinent that I take the very painful but necessary decision to resign my membership of the party,” he wrote.
